Creating and living a persona, DIY management and tailored merchandise

This week we’re up the road (all be it a long one) in Scotland at the Edinburgh Fringe festival as we enter the world of Chap Hop talking to Mr B the Gentleman Rhymer!

We first stumbled upon the wonders of Mr B at the Kendal Calling festival many years ago, instantly being drawn by what was a familiar yet unique sound. Ben goes it alone in this episode with Mr B, and after seemingly spending half a day wandering around the city centre together, they settle on a beautiful, but windy square. The wind gets up in a couple of spots during the episode, but it doesn't last too long and shouldn't spoil the overall listen.

The topics Ben delves into cover both creating and living a persona, DIY management and tailored merchandise (link below). All of these things contribute to Mr B being a unique proposition. There aren't many other musicians that sell their own moustache wax, cufflinks or silk pocket squares!

We'd highly recommend checking him out, to which we've placed a few links below to either have a quick listen, or perhaps even purchase his latest album 'There's a Rumpus Going On', or the more festive offering 'Mr B's Christmas Album'.

The good cause this week is Mencap, a UK charity for people with a learning disability. Mr B gives a personal story about his involvement with Mencap which is extremely funny (in a nice way). Another great charity to support.
