David Wilson - Music Video Director
Getting started in the industry, building a reputation, working with big bands and common challenges.
This week Ben is in London speaking to music video director David Wilson about getting started in the industry, building a reputation, working with big bands and common challenges.
David has built up quite a reputation for himself in the world of music video producing. You don't get to shoot videos for the likes of Arctic Monekys and Arcade Fire without being recoginsed as somebody who is pretty darn good at what you do.
In this first of a two part episode with David we talk about how he got his foot in the door into this part of the industry and then built his reputation up in a resonably short period of time to work with some of the biggest acts around.
It was interesting to hear about the process for creating a video as well as David's views on the common mistakes bands can make when coming up with video ideas.
The good cause this week is the Terrence Higgins Trust, the largest voluntary sector provider of HIV and sexual health services in the UK. The statistic David provided alone shows how much of an issue this remains.
